Happy Friday, book lovers! 🙌
This week, I wanted to take a quick break from my usual reviews and dive into a fun poll. We all know that some of the best movie adaptations are based on books, but here’s the real question: Do you read the book before watching the movie?
It’s a hot topic for bookworms. Some people love to experience the book first, letting their imagination run wild, while others prefer to watch the movie first for a visual experience, and then check out the book for even more depth.
Here’s why I’m asking:
Lately, there’s been a lot of chitchat about some popular books being turned into TV series or movies. While I’m curious to see how they portray some of my favorite characters, I’m also worried that the story will be ruined when put to screen. That being said, I read all of the Harry Potter books before the movies came out (aging myself a bit there), and I actually loved how the movies turned out…even if I felt like they left out quite a bit of information.
Take the poll below (and feel free to leave a comment if you have strong feelings on the subject!):
Poll Question:
Do you prefer to read the book before watching the movie adaptation?
- Yes, always! I want to experience the story in its original form first.
- No, I prefer to watch the movie first for the visual experience, then read the book if I’m curious.
- It depends on the book/movie.
- I don’t mind either way—book or movie, I just love a good story!
Bonus Question:
What’s the best book-to-movie adaptation you’ve ever seen? Tell me in the comments!
I’ll be back next week with another fun post and a new poll, but for now, I’m looking forward to seeing your responses. 🧐📚
Happy reading (and watching)!
