There’s something deliciously dangerous about a book wishlist. One minute you’re just browsing, telling yourself you’re only looking, and the next you’re thirteen tabs deep in indie publishers and secondhand shops, mentally rearranging your shelves to make room for new literary obsessions.
Every Wednesday, I promise myself I’ll be strong. I’ll resist. I’ll show restraint.
And every Wednesday, I fail gloriously.
This week, three titles have sunk their hooks into me—and they are not letting go:
🦬 The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones

Jones never writes safe. His work is sharp, strange, and rooted in something that feels mythic and modern all at once. This one promises a dark ride—something haunting, brutal, and entirely unforgettable. If horror with heart is your thing, you already know he’s a must-read.
🌾 Sunny Gale by Jamie Lisa Forbes

Every once in a while, I crave something quiet and resonant—stories that don’t shout, but still leave echoes. Sunny Gale looks like one of those books. Set against the backdrop of the American West, it promises nuanced characters, complicated histories, and the kind of writing that sneaks up on you.
🧓 Wrinkled Rebels by Laura Katz Olson

Older women starting trouble? Sign me up. This novel sounds like a blend of heartfelt reflection and spirited rebellion, and I am so here for it. Stories that explore aging with honesty and fire don’t come around often enough—and this one is marching straight to the top of my list.
Will I read them this week? Probably not.
Will I still acquire them and stack them lovingly on my TBR throne? Absolutely.
So now I ask you:
What books have crept onto your wishlist lately? Drop your newest obsessions in the comments—I’m always hungry for another story to add to the pile.
Because around here, indulgence isn’t a weakness.
It’s the whole point. 🍽️
