šŸ“š Book Review – The Hitman’s Guide to Making Friends and Finding Love by Alice WintersRating: āļøāļø (DNF)

With a title like The Hitman’s Guide to Making Friends and Finding Love, I expected a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud story with just enough danger to keep things interesting. What I got instead was a narrative that felt more chaotic than charming.

The setup is undeniably quirky—a hitman with a sense of humor and a romantic storyline simmering in the background—but the execution just didn’t work for me. The banter, which should have sparkled, came off as forced. The characters, rather than feeling layered or endearing, often read like exaggerated sketches of what they could have been.

The plot struggled to find its rhythm, and the tone never quite settled. I waited for the moment that would pull me in and make me care—but it never came. Eventually, I put the book down and didn’t feel compelled to pick it back up.

This one wasn’t a fit for me, but I can see how readers who enjoy absurd, over-the-top romps with a heavy dose of chaos might have more fun with it than I did.

Devour or Nibble?
šŸ„„ Nibble – I didn’t finish this one. It might hit the mark for fans of madcap humor and larger-than-life characters, but for me, it missed the target.
